closetspace

i thought it might be interesting to share how i organize my closet. or maybe not very interesting at all. the truth is, i quite like this little space located in my bedroom. it is actually pretty roomy compared to the previous closet that was in my old apartment.

Photobucket

here are my loves. it's nice to have easy access to all of my shoes, instead of rummaging around the floor for the right pair.

coral lips

Photobucket

illamasqua's obey is a matte, orangy/coral color. this lipstick is opaque and high maintenance, definitely requiring some blending work. applied lightly, it can be very wearable. i often pair it with revlon's superlusterous lipgloss in coral reef for a gorgeous, coral shine.

both colors are beautiful on their own, but they're flattering combined as well.

minihaul

Photobucket

toms are so lightweight and comfortable. these shoes are nice for casual days when you don't necessarily want to wear sandals. i think they'll look super cute with shorts or skinny jeans. i got mine in classic black to match everything. the fact that the company gives shoes to children in need with every purchase is amazing!

Photobucket

sephora by opi's traffic is much more rose gold than in the photo, which is why i bought it. this chunky glitter polish would look great ontop of orly's rage. here, i'm wearing it alone. with just a couple of coats it covers the nails, giving a nice dimension and shine. it doesn't take long to dry, either.

Photobucket

mac's paint pot in bare study is a gorgeous, shimmery shade and the perfect neutral base for any shadow. this is the first paint pot i've purchased and i actually prefer it's formulation to benefit's creaseless cream shadows.

every day face

most used makeup products

Photobucket

after i apply revlon's photoready foundation, i'll cover any blemishes with a concealer. then, i'll apply both deep throat by nars and mac's well dressed for a flush of color. benefit's high beam gives a natural sheen to the skin, which i'll blend onto my cheekbones. i've cut out face powder from my routine because i prefer a glowy rather than matte look. for eyes, i'll use benefit's creaseless cream shadow in birthday suit as a base for my naked palette. i often skip on liner, but sometimes i'll apply sapphire by stila when i feel like taking the time. it's a nice navy shade. lips vary, but one of my most used lipsticks is naked by urban decay. aside from it's hideous packaging, it's a gorgeous, natural shade with an appealing creamy formula.

bottom row; high beam. deep throat. well dressed. naked (lipstick).

oh, the blending shadow brush above is a sonia kashuk brush from target. along with my measly blush brush, they are the only brushes i use.

benefit creaseless cream shadow

Photobucket

i have a slight obsession with cream eyeshadows. the two i have from benefit are birthday suit, left, and strut, right. they're easy to sweep across the lid when in a hurry or to use them as a base for other shadows. although these products have a great staying power, i can't say that they don't crease after longwear. however, it doesn't take much effort to blend them back out with your finger.

birthday suit is a nice neutral, shimmery shade that is perfect for every day use. the darker shade, strut, can be applied with a light hand for day use as well, or you could use more of the product and smoke it up for a sexy evening look.

shabby chic love

Photobucket

there's an antique/consignment shop near where i live with an inspiring little booth inside. it is themed shabby chic and i can't resist buying something from this booth while i am there.

i recently moved to a new apartment and have been obsessed with furniture shopping. although i do love everything shabby chic, i can appreciate anything antique and of quality. here are some pieces i have recently bought for my apartment. i think they bring the place together nicely.

Photobucket

i bought the fabric on the chairs at the consignment shop for $8 and had them each reupholstered.

the above side table was used for the kitchen in an old farmhouse. the knobs are original!

this book by rachel ashwell is also from the consignment shop. the pictures in it are amazing and it is the perfect little decorative book.

if any of you share a love for shabby chic or are into home decor, please leave a comment!

haulin'!

Photobucket

i ran out of my boi-ing concealer by benefit. i've heard many positive reviews for the mac studio finish concealer, so i purchased it in nw20. i picked up creme cup lipstick and coppering eyeshadow, too. i also decided to try a nars blush in dolce vita.

OOTD

so, i've just gotten home from running a few errands. here is a not-so-fancy outfit of the day. truthfully, this is what i live in.

Photobucket

just plain black yoga pants and a sweatshirt-like t-shirt from forever21. love the lace detailing on the shoulders. sunglasses are michael kors...tjmaxx.

on my feet...

Photobucket

i've had these frye sandals for about 3 years now. they're my absolute favorite and i wear them with about everything.

something you don't see...

Photobucket

this push-up bra is from khol's and i bought it for just over $20. it's coming slightly more green on camera, but it's actually a brighter blue. regardless, it is extremely comfortable and a great price. this bra has just enough padding that continues all the way down towards the bottom seam, preventing underwire digging. i'm definitely going back to get more in other colors.

comfort is key!

OOTN

this is a bit of a random blogpost, including an outfit of the night. i am not going out tonight and this picture was taken a few month ago in a friend's bathroom. however, still being one of my favorites, i thought i'd share it since it seems that boredom has gotten the best of me.

Photobucket

the pink banana republic top is a silky, flowy piece that i've tucked into a bandage skirt from H&M. the skirt was 6 bucks, and well worth it due to it's versitility.

Photobucket

now, you're going to have to excuse the dirt on the floor of my car, because the obvious reason for this photo is the shoes. i bought these BCBG generation wedges from tjmaxx for around $30. i can't tell you how comfortable they are, partly because of the stretchy band-like material that hold them to your feet. love it.

Photobucket

one of my favorite nail combos. i've misplaced the grey, metallic color by opi. i will include the name once i find it. over the top is opi's teenage dream from the katy perry collection. although it looks lovely, i felt that teenage dream was a bit "goopy", for lack of a better word. mine may have just been a dud.

TRESemme thermal creations

Photobucket

i've always been on the lookout for a good mousse. i was pleasantly surprised by tresemme's thermal creations volumizing mousse. the product claims to work with heat somehow, resulting in voluminous hair.

mousse is a very important part of my hair regimen for the simple fact that i love big hair, especially because my hair is on the thinner side. i'll take a load of the product and massage it into my roots and down to the tips. after blowdrying, i notice the volume and love the feel of my hair. it's the best mousse i've tried. period. this product gives the appropriate amount of hold without feeling sticky or weighing my hair down. i find that the tease in my hair lasts a bit longer as well. definitely a repurchase item.
